What is Family Selected Services?

Family Selected Services (FSS) is a program that provides supports, services and help to:                             

Assist families to care for their family member with disabilities at home

Enhance the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities

Who provides the service ?  

The FSS program is administered through the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities and paid with local funds.

The County Board will fund family request if:

The family member with developmental disabilities is eligible for service.

The Board has funds available

Items or services cannot be funded by other sources

The request is consistent with the individual’s needs and the Board’s Family Selected Services philosophy

Respite Care

Adaptive Equipment

Home modifications

Special Diets

Other services—individualized as counseling, sign language, books, classes, reimbursement for mileage to doctors, hospital, therapy visits, and more.
