WHO IS EI FOR?
Eligible children (Birth – 2) that reside in Carroll County are assigned a primary service provider and their needs are evaluated, then met, to ensure their developmental potential can be achieved.
Early Intervention (EI) is developed to offer help to parents and families when there are concerns with their child's development. EI is finding early signs that your child may have delays in one or more of the following areas: speaking, hearing, seeing, moving, thinking, and/or playing.
Services are provided within the child's natural learning environment (such as the home or day care). Infants and toddlers learn best through everyday experiences & interactions with familiar people in familiar places.
THE PROCESS
Initial referral is made to Help Me Grow and the family is assigned a Service Coordinator who will help the family access services.
Next, an evaluation is conducted to determine the child's needs.
An individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) is developed with the family to determine goals based on the child's needs & the family's priorities.
Service delivery utilizes a primary service provider approach. The frequency of visits are decided by the team and family.
The team utilizes evidence-based practices through a Primary Service Provider (PSP) approach to intervention.
*Services are provided at no cost to the family.
