Basketball Team and Cheerleaders

The Carroll County Cougars Varsity basketball team has had a phenomenal season.  The Cougars haven’t had a win in well over ten years.  This season the Cougars are standing at seven wins and four losses.  The Cougars participated in the NE Ohio Regional Tournament Geneva, OH on January 27th and 28th.  The team went all the way to the finals and ended as the runner-up team for the entire NE Ohio Region.  The team has worked extremely hard this season by having two practices a week on an official size basketball court courtesy of the Carroll County Commissioners allowing them to utilize the old YMCA gym. Carrollton Schools also helped by allowing our team to play all of our home games at the Carrollton Elementary School gym.  Up until this sport season, the Carroll County Cougars utilized the Carroll Hills School gym, which is approximately half the size of an official basketball court.  We are proud of the hard work and dedication our Cougars team has shown.

The Carroll County Cougars’ cheerleading squad shares the success due to participating in and winning three trophies at the Tuscarawas County Cheerleading Invitational.  The cheerleaders worked hard learning the cheers as well as an entertaining half-time show.  The cheerleaders are already beginning to plan their next season and are extremely motivated and excited.
