Striving for Success

Dustin Shafer is a high school student attending Carroll Hills School.  Dustin applied to be involved in the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities Jet Exploration and Training (JET) six week summer program.  Some local businesses opened their doors to CCBDD Job Coaches and JET participants and allowed their site to be used for job training and skill building. 

During the summer, Dustin learned many new skills including team building and job expectations.  He was able to begin his work day with minimal direction from his job coach.  Dustin tackled new tasks and happily performed additional duties, due to absent co-workers, on top of his daily job responsibilities. 

Dustin successfully completed the JET program while helping his co-workers complete a job, interacting with new faces and following his weekly work schedule.  Thank you Dustin for coming to work each day in a great mood and ready to work.  Congratulations on a job well done!
