March 2025 Success Story
Developmental Disabilities Month
Developmental Disabilities Month
March is Developmental Disability Month. The theme this year is “Together We Can Achieve Anything.” The Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities has been around for over fifty years. We were founded to provide services to people with developmental disabilities. These services have evolved to empower people with disabilities to have the same quality of life as everyone else. This can only happen with the support of this community through taxpayer dollars, volunteers, business support, workers, etc.
The Annual Developmental Disabilities Banquet will be held at the FFA Camp on March 26, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Carroll Hills Council voted to change the format of the banquet by keeping the focus on businesses, volunteers, and those with developmental disabilities as award winners. More awards will be given to those receiving services such as Helen Eick Volunteer, two Adult Personal Achievement, two Children Personal Achievement, three Principal Awards, one Superintendent Award, and an award for an outstanding person receiving services at each agency provider. There are so many success stories and this is a great way to celebrate them.
“Together We Can Achieve Anything.” This is what the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities is all about. The Board has seen numerous success stories of folks living on their own in the community, obtaining their dream job, learning to drive, getting married, etc. Thank you again to this wonderful community’s support so “Together We Can Achieve Anything” for those with developmental disabilities.
