Community Employment - JET Program

Summer Youth Job Exploration Training Program

For several years, the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities has offered a summer youth JET Program for students ages 14-21 that have an IEP or qualify for Carroll County Board of DD services. The 2024 six-week program began on June 3rd and will run for six weeks. A job coach works side by side with the students teaching work expectations and job skills at their assigned work location. Students receive on the job training and job experience, while earning a paycheck. Student work locations could include the Carrollton Assembly of God, The Chop House, Jimmy’s Pizzeria, or detailing cars at the Board Offices. This year has gotten off to a great start, we are excited to see the progress of each student each week!
