January 2021 Success Story

Brittany Beckley

Brittany Beckley

When Brittany started attending Starlight Enterprises she was very shy, and did not like to try new things.  Over this past year, she has blossomed. She has made new friends and enjoys spending time with them.  Brittany has even participated in online Zoom chats with folks from other counties. She’s now filming educational videos for Facebook, sharing her knowledge about different animals from around the world.

She does a great job making and selling her jewelry.  She enjoys working on hinges and screw packs, when they are available.  Brittany is trying a variety of new activities, work experiences and volunteering to see what she truly likes and dislikes.  Brittany has cleaned at the FFA Camp, stocked shelves at Sander’s Market, helped with activities at Centerville Village, volunteered at Hospice Browse and Buy and has some work experience at Pieces With Purpose.  She has also helped deliver meals for the Meals on Wheels program and said, “It’s great to get out of the house and spend time with others.”  She loves animals and hopes to gain work experience at Faith Ranch or a local camp when the weather is warmer.

Brittany loves visiting the library where she’ll often lead the way by introducing us to staff, showing us where things are located and demonstrating how to use the craft equipment.

Brittany has truly accomplished so much in the past year.  We are so proud of her!
